Perago continues its commitment to digital inclusion in Wales!

Perago’s dedication to digital inclusion in Wales remains stronger than ever. As a member of the Digital Inclusion Alliance Wales (DIAW) steering group, we’re proud to play our part in bridging the digital divide.

Digital Inclusion Alliance Wales (DIAW) brings together organisations from across Wales who are working together to make Wales a digitally inclusive nation. With over 100 members, the Alliance comprises public and third-sector organisations, private-sector companies, and academia, all focused on ensuring that everyone who wants to in Wales is able to access and use digital tools and technologies in their everyday lives and has the confidence to do so.

The ever-present challenge of digital exclusion

Our reliance on digital tools and products continues to grow daily, needing more skills or resources. At Perago, we recognise this ongoing challenge and will work alongside the DIAW to find ways to support people that need to use digital tools and services.

The DIAW’s ongoing focus

The DIAW’s core priorities remain relevant today, addressing key areas to promote digital inclusion:

  • Weaving digital inclusion into every sector: From public services to private businesses, digital inclusion is no longer an afterthought but a necessity.
  • Prioritising digital inclusion in healthcare and social care: Accessing healthcare and social support services online shouldn’t be a privilege.
  • Combating data poverty: Data affordability remains a barrier for many, and the DIAW works towards solutions.
  • Upskilling for the digital economy: Equipping individuals with digital skills is crucial for employment and well-being.
  • Establishing minimum digital standards and co-production: Everyone deserves a baseline level of digital access, and user involvement is critical in designing effective services.

How Perago Makes a Difference

Perago’s services directly align with the DIAW’s priorities, and we offer a helping hand in two key areas:

  • Digital skills development: We work with organisations across Wales to help establish their digital needs, identify skill gaps, and provide training or recruitment solutions to build strong digital teams.

We work with several clients across the public sector in Wales, helping them identify the roles they require and the skills they need (either by upskilling the staff or actively recruiting). When we work with a client to deliver a service, we always build the capability in the people we work with to maintain digital service delivery.

  • User-centred service design: We champion a collaborative approach that involves all stakeholders in the design process. This ensures services are accessible, user-friendly, and meet the needs of everyone who interacts with them.

Our approach is user-led service design, so we advocate an approach that spends a lot of time upfront working with users, identifying those users of the service, and working with them to understand the problems that they have with the service today and design that service in a way that will enable them to make more effective use of that service in the future.

When we talk about users, we don’t just mean the end users of the service; we mean users at every step of service delivery. So, from the people in the street trying to access something online to the people in the back office who need to process those applications and transactions, how can we make that end-to-end user service as seamless as possible for everyone involved?

Help us bridge the divide.
