As Delivery Lead on our team,  you’ll manage one or more agile projects, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation as part of a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled digital team.

You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team, planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed. You’ll be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work and the difference they’re making. You’ll also have a part to play in developing our delivery capability to ensure our teams have the skills and experience our clients need.

We’re looking for someone with the skills below. However, don’t be put off if you don’t meet every criteria. We’d be still interested to hear from you if you have other relevant experience  you can bring to the role.

Delivery focus. You can identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use , encouraging a mindset of experimentation and recognising when something does not work. You can adapt and reflect, be resilient and support and coach others in new techniques and ways of working. You have a focus on delivering user-centred outcomes and understand how to define, measure and evaluate benefits.   You can manage the team’s delivery pace and actively address risks, issues, and dependencies, including where ownership exists outside the team.

Commercial management. You can act as the point of contact for contracted suppliers. You understand appropriate internal connections and processes within an organisation. You know how and when third parties should be brought into digital data and technology (DDaT) projects.

Financial management. With a focus on user needs, you know how to balance cost versus value and report on financial delivery. You can monitor cost and budget; you understand how and when to escalate issues.

Communication skills. An effective communicator, you listen to stakeholders and users’ needs and interpret them, managing expectations and demonstrating flexibility. You can facilitate difficult discussions within the team , and diverse stakeholder groups, building buy-in and trust.

Lifecycle perspective. With experience of agile lifecycles, you recognise when to move from one stage of a product life cycle to another. You can ensure the team is working towards the appropriate service standards for the relevant phase and know how to communicate and share progress openly. You can manage delivery products and services at different phases.

Making the process work. You can identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. You can add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes. You know how to guide teams through the implementation of a new approach.

Planning. You understand the environment and can prioritise the most important or highest value tasks. You can use data to inform planning. You can manage complex internal and external dependencies and can provide delivery confidence. You can remove blockers or impediments that affect plans and can develop a plan for difficult situations. You ensure that teams plan appropriately for their capacity.

Building effective teams. You know how to bring people together to form a motivated team and create the right team environment to succeed. You’ll have experience of working alongside in house teams to deliver results.
Public sector. It would be beneficial, but not essential, for you to have experience working in the public sector in Wales as this is our focus as a company.

We’d welcome any experience you bring of what it’s like to deliver services; the challenges faced when trying to meet user needs and how to overcome them.
